A baby black mystery snail! My wife was looking at our tank the other day and noticed somethig climbing up the glass it was very small. I went to take a look and it was a baby snail! I couldn't believe it! We had one snail already and then bought another last week. Could it of been already pregnant? How long is their gestation period? Is there any special care for them?

If it had had the baby in the tank you probably would have noticed a clump of eggs and there would probably be more than one baby. The baby could have been crawling on the big snail when you bought it.

Mystery/apple snails lay large clutches of eggs above the waterline that you cant really miss.It may actually be a pest snail intruduced with plants or something.
