Is it true tht bettas can live healthily in a cold fish bowl bacuse the can breath out if the air at the top (sometihn to do wit their labyrinth organ). i heard this on here and wondered if its true...plz help!!

they can live like that....but it's doubtful that they can live HAPPILY like that.....70-80 is a good temp range, and .5gal or more is a good size.

And if the air they are breathing in is too cold, they can get pneumonia (sp.?) I think

I kept one of my bettas in a bowl, but the temperature was too cold and overnight he got ich... just something to consider
