It depends on your set up and how and whether you have conditioned them first.

There is alot of useful info on the link below.

If your talking about as a food for the new born fry, then no, they will be too big :)

Do you mean for the frys first food? If so then no they would be too big for them. :good:

um.. i hope you dont mean you have more than one female in with him. when breeding, you must have ONLY one female for the male. more females will cause trouble. unfortunately, ive heard from so many LFS staff that "the best way to breed fighters is to have 2-3 females for the male. i know coz ive bred them" they obvioulst aint got a clue.

as for daphnia, no, adult daphnia will not work. i had a degree of success with a spawn where i added a large, active culture of daphnia to the fry tank after removing the male. then fed the tank frozen micro plankton for the daphnia to feed on, and the fry fed on the baby daphnia, then at 4 weks old they took to eating frozen cyclops no problems

Never thought of doing that? that would certainly cut down on daily feeding chores  Are daphnia cultures easy to set up?

dead easy! get a 7 litre jar, put a bit of pond weed in it, set it on a windowsil so it gets sunlight and seed it with either a live daphnia bag from your LFS or some wild taken daphnia from a pond (make sure its clean though) and fen it half a cube of microplankton once a day. after a couple of weeks, you have a ripe culture that you can add to the tank on removing the male. keep a few cultures on the go and introduce about half of a culture every week. feed the fry tank each day with a half cube of disloved microplankton. worked for me :good:
