Okay im new here and have been into the hobby for 13+ years now, although i am new to breeding tiger barbs. I have a 29 gallon gallon setup with a shoal of 9 tiger barbs (5 wild and 4 albino). I have noticed one of my females getting really loaded with eggs as i have been feeding bloodworms and tubifex worms and rose the temperature to 80 degrees to condition her. I have a 10gallon setup that is heavily planted, set at 80 degrees, slgihtly acidic... to trigger spawning. I add the female and let her get used to the breeding tank, then after a day i add the male in the evening. Almost always the female chases around my fastest and most brightly coloed male that i really want to get to breed. Am i doing something wrong? Isnt the male suppose to chase around my female? I know alot of people say let them pair off in the community tank but i don't really see them pairing off. Because im trying to breed the wild type i have 3 females and 2 males (2 of the females are ready to breed but one is much much fatter). Can you guys give me any advice? thanks
