Tropiquarium 55

I bought a second hand tropiquarium. The filter isn't complete, only the powerhead and I have scanned the net looking for parts or a new one but haven't found what I'm looking for yet.
I don't know at this point whether the heater and filter work anyway.
Has anyone managed to move them, if so - how?
Also does anyone know where I can buy the trio 2000 filter from?

Well I recently bought a second hand Tropiquarium 68 – so they are quite similar. My filter was also incomplete (inlet uptake pipe missing & no filter media) and the heater was filled with water !
I just took the heater out and replaced it with a visitherm. I then also got rid of the filter as it would have been way to expensive to get the bits and pieces that were missing. I replaced it with a Fluval 3+
I recommend that’s the way to go as it kind of defeats the object of buying a second hand tank and then paying more to replace all the bits & pieces.

I suggest you go for a Fluval 2+ filter and regulate the water flow - as the Fluval 1+ (though it's suited for your tank size) doesn't allow the extra adjustment.

Hi Bloozoo, thank you for the reply. Was it easy to remove the filter and heater as they are wired into the lid? I would much prefer everything separate anyway. Have never bought second hand before but this was a bargain.

Yeah, I'm a girlie too, and I managed it fine. You just take out the 2 screws that hold the light switch in place, and then you'll see what to do. Easy!

Well I did it. Of course, I took all the screws out from underneath before I discovered the light switch bit was all I needed to take off
Any way I've taken them out now and I can buy the equipment I want for it, thanks so much for your help
