Tropical Pond

I bet the Malawis loved having loads of fresh algae on demand, plus all that space! Was it a nightmare netting them out at the end of the summer, not to mention the unknown of how many youngsters were lurking in the pond after the summer months?

There was an 8x3x2 inflatable paddling pool on offer for £25 at a local garden centre a month or two ago, I jokingly said to my better half that the sub-tropical fish I have would love that extra space to swim in during the summer months in theback garden (with a net cover)!:fun:

Well…. I currently have some Corries (Bronze and Albino) in outside ponds as well as Albino BN’s….. Below are a couple of my previous outside tropical pond projects, which I kept outside winter and summer for a number of years….

I'm looking for more pics i know i have them somewhere but im not sure where.
They did mate they absolutely loved it a lot of them showed very natural behaviour and the colours really did come out on the fish. Yeah it was so hard to catch them all up and i have around 200 1" fry within a few months had to take them all to my LFS as i didn't have the space to house them all :(. If you could give it ago mate I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you did an Amazon themed set-up or discuss etc... Would look amazing so natural as blue acara said. If you could get one with a glass window too would make it look 10 times better.

Awesome man they look beautiful did the fish enjoy it?

quality. Only just noticed this. Yeah you could put a glass window in the side for viewing, my mate has one on his koi pond.

Yea, I am totally thinking about it, maybe getting a greenhouse or something might keep the heat in, Or I could do one in a garage but I think my husband has his heart set on putting his car in the garage for working on it and so forth...I do have an extra room in my house though...love the idea of plants and such...

Yea well now fine...... As we speak, I'm busy getting a pond ready for the descendants of my 2 (accidental) remaining Guppies after I got rid of all of them..... Currently counting about 400 from the one pair..... I will post pics once they are established in their new pond......

That's awesome, try to get a pan of the whole pond setup, I would love to see it!!!!
