I have kept a 3 feet glass aquarium containing plants in my garden.
The garden is very hot during the afternoon.
I have an under water thermometer which shows 36°C which may
rise to 38°C in the coming days of peak summer.

Now.....I am looking for fishes that should be pretty and at the same
time should survive these hot conditions.

I'm guessing then that your profile that says you're in the UK isn't quite right if you're getting those temperatures!

We need a lot more information before we can recommend anything. Whereabouts in the world are you?

Will the fish be outside all year round, and if so, what's the minimum temperature in winter? What does the temperature drop to at night? Is the tank filtered, or have any aeration?

Is the water hard or soft?

sorry....I had created my profile in a hurry.

now, i have corrected my location in the profile.

I am in western part of India where the minimum temperature in winter is 12°C
and maximum in summer is 40°C.

The fishes will be all year round. The tank has filter as well as aeration.

40°C is the maximum temperature which doesn't mean the whole of summer.
Just a few days here and there. The temperatures are high only during the afternoons.
And also to add that night temperatures during summer would be around 30°C
