Hi. Can anyone help. We bought 2 fish about 3 months ago which we have now discovered were dyed. Had we known this at the time we would not have bought them. One is pink and the other blue. 2 days ago the blue one suddenly had no top lip. He is not eating and his mouth is constantly on the go. Just looks like a big hole now. It looks pretty terminal to me. Can anyone assist here. Don't know wot to do for the best. Water conditions all ok, and other fish all fine. Have seen no signs of bullying from other fish at all.. HELP. Thanks... :dunno:

With such a trauma to the species I think any long term recovery is unachievable. I would continually monitor the fish, and if at any time appears to be suffering exceedingly, look to euthanize the poor thing.

Best of luck

Sounds like a mouth fungus that is completely out of control. I agree with Tjimbsoj in that you should moniter and euthanize when appropiate. I would not be suprised if the other fish were also infected. You can try to use a preventative for the remaining fish...Good luck....
