hi i have a 4kg box of this, and there is no instructions on box strangely , on how much salt to use to how much wtaer?

can anyone help?

I have red sea coral pro salt and the mix for that is 1kg of salt for 30l of RO. Its not the same make of salt but i would guess that its proberly not much different in terms of mixing volume, just mix it slowly and keep testing it as you go.

Hope this helps

The moment you open salt it starts absorbing moisture from the air so weight based measurements become inaccurate.

Far better is to add salt until it reaches the salinity you want measured with a hydrometer or refractometer.

Yep. When I mix salt I always use the same bucket for the water and same glass for scooping up the salt. That way I know 2 and a half glasses of salt gets me close to what I want then I just gradually add a little bit more at a time, leave it awhile and then test it again.

If you go over the SG you want just add some more RO water to it.

Says on the box, 4kg does 32 US gallons/26 Imperial Gallons/120 litres. How much water are you trying to salt, then work it out from there.

so how long does it take when u add salt to taking the reading?

Usually when its fully dissolved and at correct temp.

But i know how u feel i bought a 10kg bucket and theres none. So i rang up tmc from work, they said divide the amount by the volume to get roughly 3grams per litre. But tbh best thing is to work it out with a scoop and a 10litre bucket of RO.
