Trolls And Wums

Being relatively new to these forums, only joined in August on advice from freinds, I'm not too sure on the etiquite of replying to posts that you suspect are trolling. I appreciate, and did appreciate the patience of people myself when I first joined asked some stupid questions and am sure will do in the future, that there is genuine questions being asked and answered, but what do you do if you begin to suspect that you've been had?

The recent influx of such posts is baffling me, does it usually go in cycles or is this the first time it's happened on this forum?

just report the post, if you are worried, the mods will make any decisions.

I've certainly seen some 'peaks' in trolling behaviour that co-incide with school holidays.

oh, and what's a 'Wum'? I've not heard that term before.

Thanks, will report suspicions in future rather than post. Wierd thing is anyone who knows me, knows I like a good wind up in 'real life', but I feel it isn't funny online, must be cos its only the written word or people don't know each other.

If you see any of this behavior please report it to us, we can't look over every post on this forum, so it helps us a great deal when things are reported. The reports get acted on quickly in most cases. Trolling people is a bannable offense and if the mod team see fit, a ban will be put in place.

Also a bit of good advice I picked up from a previous life as a moderator, simply do not feed the trolls, they crave attention and love to cause disruption, ignoring them is the thing that most frustrates them (and obviously reporting them to the moderators here too is a good plan!).
