Just Set my tank up. Cycling using media from my main tank so shouldn't take too long to get the fishes in.

Plant are temporary until I make my mind up what hard species will be ok with my fish that will go in.

I intend to have the following occupants to the tank.

1 x Pim Pictus
2 x Keyhole 1 x Green Severum
2 x Bolivian Ram 2 x laetacara flavilabris
6 - 8 x Black Widow Tetra

What plant do you think would be ok with these, I want it quite dense in there!

Cheers dthoffsett, I know they prefer to be in 3+ but I have 'inherited' him and he seems to be doing fine, a little extrovert if anything for a pim! Alway swimming around the tank day or night. I will post some more pics when the tank has finished cycling and some of the stock is introduced.

Like the layout, looks good and I am defo a fan of the corner units as the fish tend to prefer swimming on the longer section of glass....

Thanks Humdiginy, The subsrate is ADA Aqua soil Amozon II. The reason I used amozonII is that my water is quite hard (Derbyshire) and Amozon I had reports of white cloudiness in hard water. Beware that when setting a tank up with this stuff however there are some fine particles which will float around the tank for a few days and settle on any other decoration. It also leaches amonia for a few days so users should be aware that you will be required to do large frequent water changes for a while before you can introduce stock. I find this a benefit as if helps cycle the tank without the need for fish or the addition of any chemicals to the tank. My tank cycled in 2 weeks using some cloned media from my other tanks filter.

Hi Se7enUK, I have to agree with you, this is my first corner tank and the black widows spend all day at the front of the glass only occasionally venturing deeper into the tank. This also applies to the Pim Pic at night ,he loves to swim back and forth across the front of the tank during lights out.

Glad you like the tank folks, I will keep updating with photos as it progresses. I plan on introducing a pair of Keyholes next and maybe adding in the more permanent plant selection soon (using fast growers at the moment to try and combat brown 'new tank' algae)

wow ur tank looks really good the plant growth is spectacular and i love pictus in planted tanks, there bigg enough were they look cool and small enough as they dont do to much damage to plants ecept they do eat the smaller fish that are more commonly in planted tanks but oh well lol

Thanks Catfish, No small fish going in here, my Pim will eat anything smaller than a fully grown guppy!!

The black widow tetras seem to be fine though due to their deep body shape. Will have to keep an eye on proceedings though.

Currently trying to source a 'pair' of Keyholes that are large enough to introduce but my LFS only seem to obtain very juvenile stock so I may have to grow them on a bit in my Q tank. Does anybody know how fast Keyholes grow??

I have also added 3 armoured shrimp, does anybody have any info on these, they are a blue colour large 'fan like' shrimp.

Just thought I would post a photo of my latest additions to the tank.

Laetacara flavilablis, a dwarf Acara which is very peaceful, hopefully I have a male and a female though it is a little difficult to tell at there size.
