I have my albino fry in a 5g, and today my Tri's are spawning! The albino's will be 4 weeks on the 21st and the biggest ones are about this _______ long not including tail. Would it be safe to put the eggs on the glass in the fry tank to hatch or will they get eaten?

Probably get eaten once they hatch, you may be better, putting the eggs in a net above a airstone, tri eggs take around 5-6 days to hatch normally dependant on temp :good:

Congrats on your tri's spawning :good:

Any pics of the albinos yet? :)

Thanks! The net I have the albinos were able to swim right through when they hatched so I may just put them in the 2g hex till they get a bit bigger!

I had just put 2 small ones in the tank with my lone tri and the two albinos day before yester day! Was NOT expecting this  but awesome!!

will work on pics:D

Yep my tri's spawned more or less straight away when i originally bought them

How many albino's babes have you got now?

rough count(hard as they move so much!) 25ish. A couple are getting pretty big and there are 2 still really small and all the rest are in the middle! LOL Haven't lost any in the last week or so though! I have started giving them a hikari sinking wafer around once a day(plus the frozen bbs and first bites, not all at once!) and it is usually gone by the end of the day. :good:
Will try to get some pics for you in a bit and post them!!

Congratulations on the spawn, flip. :D I've never had luck with my C. trilineatus.

Thank you Inchworm! I'm thrilled, so far 17 eggs and all are looking fertile. They have been at it all day too!

Being by herself for a year and now she is making up for lost time! 45 and counting, all look fertile  They have been at it since at least when I first noticed at 8am. Thats 12 hours that I have been aware  And they arent stopping!

They finally stopped about 15 mins ago! My goodness Im tired just from watching them!! Fed bloodworm tonight as a treat for all the eggs. The final count of eggs I was able to save is 70 :hyper: That isnt counting the ones munched and they did this one egg at a time! Managed to get a couple decent pics too! Will post those up in the morning. :good:

My Trilis seem to be spawning a lot at the moment too. I don't get many eggs at a time but every few days I seem to find a couple here or there.

I've had 4 fry so far but lost 1 (literally lost - it jumped into the main tank when I was cleaning the breeding trap they're in) - 1 is about 3 weeks old and massive the other 2 are only a few days old.

Feeding microworms and hikari first bites.

Fab haul :hyper: Mine only laid around 12-16 each time, but they did spawn every few days

Mine have been spawning, but hide their eggs well,so not finding any atm

Thanks! I was shocked at the amount and the time they went for! I had read your thread on yours spawning and honestly figured they were about done when I collected the 17! Im gonna need a bigger fry tank! :hey:

How big do they need to be to put them in with the albino fry? I can remove the 2 or 3 biggest albino fry in with their parents if I need to, they are big enough to not get eaten but worried they are small enough to get picked on.

I would let the tri's grow a bit when hatched before adding to the older fry,i've done that in the past and they normally get munched

I let my fry grow until they're around 7-8 weeks old before adding them in with the adults, only because the daily w/c in the fry tank encourages growth...

Thats what I figured, will have a peek at tanks while out today for the new fry. They wont need a lid right? I can possibly pick up a cheap 2.5 or 5 gallon rectangle but wont have a lid. Some of the eggs are getting a white dot in the center, remove those right? The rest are still a darker beige color.
