Hey guys! I have a small school of mixed cories and upside-down catfish. They're all about the same size (1" or so) and they don't fight over food or anything. My cat tank is pretty peaceful. :) They all eat the Hikari sinking wafers a couple times a week and scavenge the rest.
What I'm wondering is... can I give them any treats? I'm thinking like, vegetable matter, some lettuce or something. I remember my golden Inca snails devouring lettuce, and now I have a nerite in my tank, but I was wondering if the snail didn't get to it first, would the corys eat it? What kind of snack can I give them apart from their wafer diet? :) Just for fun, really.
Thanks!

Mine often nibble on the courgette I put in for my Oto's
They also love bloodworms & daphnia as a treat

If you can stomach live food, cories go absolutely apenuts for Blackworms. But blackworms must be fed to the fish while they are alive.

Corys are omnivores, they'll eat pretty much anything, but prefer meat to veg.

Mine get quite a mix, but only as i have so many other breeds, i have plenty of different types of food.

In the tank they're in goes;

Tetra Prima (Main diet)
Standard Tropical Flake (Main Diet)
Pleco Multiwafers (For the Rubbernose in the other tank, but for the shrimp in the 80ltr, the corys eat what the shrimp dont claim)
Bloodworm (Their favourite)
Baby Brine Shrimp (Fed alongside the worms)
NovoVert (Veggie flake for the barbs in the other tank, thrown in for the Harlequins occasionally)

They get a mix of flake, prima and wafers Mon-Thurs, Worms and Shirmp on Friday/Sat, nothing on Sunday. Its safe to say Fri/Sat is their favourite meal time.

Try mixing it up. You'll likely notice some speed up in growth an colour.

Cool, thanks guys! I'll have to find a place that sells live worms, that sounds like a riot to watch.
