Not sure if my fish have got anything, but if they were to develop velvet, whitespot or any of the other common ailments, are there any treatments that are mild enough to use with the inverts and corals or would the fish have to be removed and treated in a quarantine tank?

Any suggestions of products / brands?

Many thanks

Ive heard some people talk about feeding garlic with the food, Im not sure on that one. There is always the good old cooper quarantine tank.

A recent article in a 'major reef magazine' showed that garlic really had little, if any effect, on disease. SH

I think that the garlic might help if you catch the diesease early. I use stuff called "Garlic Extreme" made by Kent. I have had some intences when my fish were begining to get ick or were losing there appetite. And right after I would either put a few trops in the water or mix it with there food and they would begin to become healthy again in about 2 days. Im not sure if it was just luck, but I have faith in it.

Reef safe products.

Octozin
Oodinex

UV Sterilizer

Ozone Unit

Garlic

Not all 100% effective

I use galic extract whenever i see a fish stratching on rocks or losing its appetite, ect., and it works very well. Garlic has long been used for coldwater fishes as well as tropicals because of its incredible ability to ward off parasites.
