Good evening. I'm planning on getting a pacman frog within the next few weeks, their lazy gluttonous behavior is very appealing to me for some reason.

Anyways, I've got a lot of the info on these guys down, and I'm just about ready, except for one really dumb question

I hear you need to use treated water with no chlorine and such to change the water and mist the tank and stuff. What exactly do I use to treat the water? I would just use the dechlorinator I use for the fish, but I'm worried that there may be some chemicals in that which are beneficial to fish but not to amphibians.

Thanks for the help.

I have never had problems treating water for salamanders and newts with dechlorinator, and cannot imagine what could be in it that would be actually harmful to frogs.

Well, the seachem prime stuff boasts to add slime coat to the fishes in some way shape or form, I just didn't know if that'd be alright for the frogs

I suspect that stuff like that will not have any effect on other amphibians, but if you're worried, why not get a very basic dechlorinator which does not claim to do any of that stuff, or ask the manufacturer?
