Just a question for you more experienced molly/platy keepers out there. Let's say you've been keeping a combination of two mollys and two platys, one male and the rest female, with two cories for almost a month, water changes and feedings kept at a normal schedule.

One day you happen to investigate why the fish are swimming in kind of exaggerated movements but not moving very far and find that your females have white speckles all over them with mild fin degrade on their tails, the male absolutely infested with both that and fungus, and the cories as yet unaffected? Could it be possible that these symptoms can happen in a low-temp but clean tank? I know you can't really have aquarium salt in the tank to reduce the bacterium and ick risk in a molly tank because most of the pet store species can't tolerate brakish water.

My other three tanks have aquarium salt in them but if I was to say maintain a molly tank and these three diseases attacked at once, what medicine, or combination of medicines, would be best to use to fight all three?

tretment protozin for whitespot& fungus if you keep pet store mollys with out salt best temp is 78-80

Damage to the fins can be a side effect of Whitespot especially if it is quite full blown. Are you sure the fish have fish fungus not columnaris though (as columnaris is definitely a lot more common than body fungus these days but is bacterial rather than fungal even though it can have symptoms very similar to fish/body fungus)?
What temperature is the tank? A low temperature can prolong the treatment of Whitespot.

There are plenty of API products that will treat multiple illnesses and diseases at once. You might want to look into the API products and good luck m8 I hope all gets well soon for your fish.

Whitespot are far more likely to appear in lower temperature aquariums. The higher the temperature the less likely they will infect your fish. Actually, tanks kept above 30 degrees C will kill whitespot as they can't tolerate it. As people have already stated there are 'Multi-Cures' available which will give an all round affect. Good luck!

Thanks, I'll see if the petstores stock any of that stuff as a just in case such an incident occurs.

I dare say that they would. It's great to have medications handy before the actual symptoms arrive incase it's a public holiday or similar.
