Returning some fish I have some never been used bread bags my mother gets from the deli she works at to bring transport them in they are food safe so should be okay for fish right?
Do i have to do anything special besides putting watter in the bag and tyeing it shut?
or anything else I phoned the store and they were not very helpfull.

As long as the bags are clean, that should be fine. Make sure to fill the bag with as much air as your can (do not blow in it--just hold the bag fully open, then sort of grab to close it, catching the air, or use an air pump). If the fish will be in there for very long, I prefer to put the bags in a cooler with a lod, so help maintain an even temperature and to catch water JIC.

As long as they are not going to be in the bags for long, and the bags are strong enough they should be fine IMO People add oxygen for longer journeys but I don't know anyone who has those facilities in their home! Iknow that some people blow into the bags but I don't know why.

Its to keep them more upright. If the bag is expanded it stands easier and the water stays nice and deep for the fish. If the bag sits on its side, the fish may have to swim sideways to breathe properly.

I use large freezer sized ziplocks. Works great, no leakage and the perfect size.

I agree with inflating the bag as much as possible, but in addition to making the bag more stable, the idea is to increase the amount of oxygen available--and air we breath out will have much less oxygen than the atmospheric air. Our emissions dilute quickly and don't result in serious oxygen deficiency, but in a contained environment like a bag, it will be noticable. Using a air pump to put in atmospheric air will help more.

Alright thankyou all, but I did run into a problem, I can't catch the damned fish!!! so many hours wasted and not one fish in a bag yet oh, well

be careful - they will get stressed.

i find 2 nets work well... chase them with one into the other.

You spent hours trying to catch your fish?! It usually takes me 1-2 minutes.

Well one and a half hour as soon as the net is in the water the fish are in there caves and none of them are visible to me so I've been tryingto keep the net out til there near the top but they still are too quick.

I have succesfully fabricated to traps with plastic bags and succeded in catching one fish today!!!!! YEAH

I always end up having to take out all the decorations to try and catch my fish - a royal pain in the butt!

I once spent an entire evening trying to catch sucking loaches - not very funny, tempers were getting fraid (mine and the fish).

The two net method is BRILLIANT. Wish I had none it when I started the mission not just when there was just one left to get!
