Tortoise Trouble

hi there just wanted to ask if anyone knew the best place to find some info out is ? ill explain
my 25+ year old greek spur thighed tortoise has been to see a specialist reptile vet in liverpool and it turns out she has an enlarged liver
this i was told is due to her producing a hormone from her reproductive system and as she has no mate it has built up and caused the problem, she now needs meds for the next two years or so and controlled hibernation but should be fine
i just wanted to find out some more about the condition but my old friend google isnt helping lol and the forums ive joined arent as helpfull as this one
so can anyone point me in the direction of some help?

oh and getting her a mate wont help i asked the vet so no excuse to get another

just a quick update shelly is doing fine on her meds even though she puts up a fight lol and should enjoy the rest of the summer in the garden its like shes been super charged after shes been dosed
