ive been looking at getting a group of these for a while but have been put off by their temp requirements. looking through various sites it seems they prefer temps as low as 20 degrees but a few sites have stated up to 28 degrees  in my current set up i have cardinal and rummynose tetras which prefer it hot and are currently at 30 degrees due to me having discus in the same tank. im thinking of selling the discus and replacing them with the barbs but only if i could find a happy medium for the tetras and barbs. can anyone help me out please that keeps the barbs and tell me what temp they have them at? :good:

Something around 25C is the general concencus max, but they can and prefer temps as low as 16C, as they live(d... now possibly extinct) in fast flowing Indian streams which have high oxygen concentrations.

My 6 Torpedo barbs have been living in a tank that is currently at 29/30 degrees. It's not my fault, the summer heat has caused the temperature to boom up and I can't do anything about it.
