Too Overcrowded?

OK will call the LFS tomorrow and discuss with them about trading in.

thanks for your help

they have been in there for about 8 months... one has died :\

The Clown Loaches will have to go and the Sail Fin Pleco, but other than that, I see no problems.

Return the sailfin and clowns as already suggested and look at increasing the filtration. You should be ok with the 4 discus after that.

i have decided to give in my 3 discuss fish and get one large one in return this should help it...

although i am giving in the sail fin and also the loaches :)

discus should be kept in groups...or am i completely wrong?
how often do you do a waterchange? and how much/ change?

i do a 20% water change once every 1 and a half 2 weeks..
but i was thinking 2 large discus would look great with heeps of cardinals and rummy's thats why i am getting rid of the 3 smaller ones.

i usually see a pair of discuss alone so im pretty sure it would be OK :S? correct

tbh mate I am amazed you've only lost one discus. They are sensitive fish that require pristine water, and usually multiple changes a week.

I would suggest rehoming them aswell.

and yes, they do best in groups.

I think the fact he only lost 1 discus of presumably 5 over an 8 month period was most likely why many people did not suggest to touch them (relocate etc.). Obviously he was doing something right.

It's a shame you got rid of the 3 smaller ones, let's hope you didn't upset the balance and proceed to lose all your luck.

i am keeping all 4 of my discuss now...

im buying all products from lfs tomorrow to get water perfect giving in all my discus and trading for 2 large ones :)

Like everyone said I agree with rehomeing the fish others said. But then I would add some more cory cats.
