My title says it all. Is it 1.5 LBS of rock per gallon?

What size of tank do you guys have and how many pounds of rocks do you have?

I've got about 75lbs of rock crammed into my 45g right now... Its too much but its only temporary till I get the 65 running.

Ive got like 80lbs also well 40 kilos in my 52 gallons looks good IMO then just enough for filtration.

Its only too much if you can't fit it all...
Cant disagree more Ski

Its only to much when you flow is restricted to the point that your liverock doesnt get enought & constant water flow thereby the bacterial process is hampered

So to much live rock is as much a problem as to little

Exactly. And usually the point at which flowrate arond the rock is impeded is when it becomes "difficult" to aquascape it all. I realize that's somewhat of a blanket statement but usually sufficient for a beginner who won't know the nuances of flow around rocks without experience anyways.

I have 187lbs (85kg) of LR in my 122g (550l)
