Tested my nitrites yesterday and we thought the red wasn't as dark as previous, couldn't wait to get home from work tonight, tested again and fantastic <0.3 I'm cycled 27 days in total. Just done a 60% ish water change and added 5ml of ammonia, nitrate is somewhere between 5 - 10 ppm, can't wait to get home tomorrow test the ammonia and nitrite again and as long as they are 0 then fish store brace yourself...well 4 cherry barbs, 6 Cardinal Tetras and 5 Jullii Cory's to start with.

Cheers,

Keith

You dam lucky bum lol. My tank is still cycling! I'm gonna check tomorrow to make sure, but i think nothing's changed since we last talked :p

i had to give up cycling mine cos thought mt tank had a leak  now think it was just condensation as tank has water in it & no sigh of a leak :grr: . but i cheated & put my filter in my already cycled tank so it can gain benefical bacteria in there :kana: . :D

well done mate. its a wicked feeling when all your hard work pays off and you can start to see the benefits.

if i have learnt anything with fish-keeping its that patience is the biggest gift! annoying as it maybe

Hmmm just got in from work and although the ammonia reads zero, the nitrites are 0.3mg/l, I'm a couple of hours earlier in taking the tests as I normally do it @ 8 ish. So not sure I should put any fish in

Views?

Thanks, I did go to the LFS tonight and was tempted....very temtped...but common sense prevailed and I figured I've waited a month one more day (hopefully) won't hurt.
