Toadstool Fallen Off!

My toadstool hasn't been too happy lately, I think my frogspawn has been getting to it as the frogspawn has grown quite a bit and so was getting closer to the toadstool(although not touching it). Anyway the other day I was alarmed to find the poor thing had come off its rock so I reattached it to a small piece of LR at the other end of the tank with an elastic band as gently as I could to make it secure. The Toadstool seemed happy enough extending it polyps and looking fine until today when now it seems the elastic band has cut into the base making the whole thing flop over.Obviously I'm going to lose a bit of base where the band has cut in but I need to know how to reattach the poor thing properly.

What I did is gently tie the elastic around the entire piece vertically. This seemed to work for all five of them, and they attached in a week or two.
