I add it to all my tanks in low amounts all the time, for treatment, I'll increase the amount

After some health problems and the death of one betta, I've concluded that adding salt to the water may be a problem in my case and I am experimenting with not adding it when I change water. In fact, I've switched to "betta bowl conditioner" and that's it. So far the results are encouraging, one VT betta perked right up in a span of 48 hours and has returned to the active little critter he was when I bought him.

I'm thinking it largely depends on the local water and what it needs or doesn't need to provide a suitable habitat. It probably takes a bit of experimenting and/or lots of testing to figure out the best mix.

Just a few thoughts.
