I just went to my LFS to buy some driftwood and I fell in love with a Betta. He is a purplish pinkish red colour :) I have a tank that I am not using at the moment. Should I set it up for him? Im afraid if I get one betta I will get addicted and end up with tanks all over my house! I had Bettas growing up as a kid so I know how to look after them and I know I could give him a happy life :) help! Lol

If you can deal with all mentioned in the care sheet then go ahead :)

I started with a veiltail in April, already have a plakat also now, and looking to get a third in a couple of months. I have managed to find a UK breeder :hyper:

Pics are a must if you do :D

Thank you for posting the care sheet. I read through it and have done some research on keeping Bettas in the past. I should easily be able to care for one. They are such beautiful fish. Hopefully he is still at my LFS tomorrow! I will post pictures when I bring him home :)

oh ok thats good, didnt want you to go out a buy the fish just to have it die or suffer.

Since you asked this in the betta section I don't think your looking for 'help'

help! Lol
I'm the wrong one to answer this because I am a Betta fish addict....lol....so your post made me laugh, about tanks "all over the house" because you are describing me....I say get him!!

The answer to your post question is always "yes".  (As long as all the things in the care sheet can be done of course)  LOL  You don't have to have tanks "all over the house", as it is easy to get a bigger tank or two and divide them to hold more than one.  ;)  I personally have issues when I see cool looking bettas even though I specialize in wild species now so it never really does end.  LOL

Do you want a new addiction? then get him. Yes betta fish are addictive. I have been keeping them for 15 years on and off and this time I got the betta bug bad. I am breeding and raising even paid to join the IBC.

Betta fish are the best I have always loved them and always will.

Come join us crazy betta people.

Yes. If you can provide the care, and are willing to join our crazy betta addict club, go for it and get him! :)
