There are fish available in any color you could imagine and some that you couldn't. I don't understand why anyone would knowingly buy paint injected fish. I like the natural glass fish compared to the "painted" ones. I only rarely see glass fish unpainted.
My local Petsmart carries unpainted glass fish all the time. I never see painted ones there.

I seem to remember reading that the GM 'glo-fish' was originally developed to monitor water conditions for treatment plants(?) - if the water quality changed then the colour of the fish also would - but that it was also soon realised that there was a commercial aspect to them. This only comes about if people are willing to keep them as pets.

As for dyed fish - NO

In my opinion painted galss fish are blantantly painted....There is no was someone could look at them and not tell..They look sooooooo fake!!
i think some people don't realise they're painted because they see brightly coloured fish like, say, neon and cardinal tetras, and they don't think that bright colours like pink or whatever are that unbelievable.

but i think people that know about the dying process are sick if they buy painted fish

Luckily I don't know of a single lfs by me that sells painted glass fish. And IMO, the unpainted ones are sooo much prettier.

i waqs wondering i saw some clear and some cloudy glass fish at wal mart today

i dont have much experience in this type of thing so could someone explain how a dyed glass fish looks? because the clear ones had a little blue streak under the dorsal fin so i was wondering is that the dye or is like the whole fish dyed
and i was wondering how many glassfish could you fit in a 5 gallon? and is ir hard to breed corys? and is it hard to raise and breed dwarf gouramis?
