Tips On Planting My Tank?

I seen a few pictures on planted tanks and was thinking about changing the stones, removing the ornaments and planting my aquarium.

I will be purchasing them from ebay when i do this.

Any tips on what type of live plants to buy.

At the moment i only have guppies, apple snails and assassin snails in the tank (with some apple snail eggs so will soon have more).

Will purchase these bundles and request certain types if any recommended plants are listed:

I'd be worried about the amount of non true aquatics in there; the umbrella fern, wheat plant and fountain plant are non aquatic for a start.

There's a seller on there called 'Last Trading Post' who are pretty good; I usually buy one of their collections to start off a new tank.

I got some plants from last trading Post and they have been great so far, and I know plenty of others on the forum have used them too.

People seem to have different experiences with so-called 'easy' plants that are suggested, but IME the plants that have worked best for me are java fern, amazon swords and elodea. Cabomba, water wisteria, indian fern and vallis have been so-so. I have some anubias and christmas moss which is growing sloooooowly but seems to be doing ok, and what I think is bacopa and red ludwigia (not 100% sure on ID) which is doing great, the bacopa is even growing emersed now. You can get all of these species from last trading post except the moss.

I bought my plants from Pets at Home (I know! I know!). I liked being able to see exactly what I was getting when I was buying it, and their plants are by a brand called Tropica, which is a well-respected aquatic plant company.

It's usually for aesthetics, there is apparently properties within the tannins that are good for fish but most remove these tannins anyway...so really it's upto you weather you add it or not, many use wood to anchor plants to (plants that have to be attached to something) and as i said many add it for aesthetics or to create a 'style'.

I was thinking starting with some Dwarf Grass as they seem easy to keep, 25 bundle, but how many would be suitable for my tank?

2 1/2 ft x 1ft water level height is 1.2ft
