Tips On Decorating This Tank?

+1

I was just going to post earlier that if you got your sand from Home Depot, why not slate?

Why not look at Tank of the Month competition and see the (winning) entries?

The switch has been made to sand! It looks SO much better. I ditched the rock wall idea, instead opting to switch out the plastic piece of driftwood with a few smaller pieces and then have just one huge piece on the left side of the tank. Then, throw in some decorative rock, maybe a few pots, etc. Plan on planting with Dwarf Sagittaria, SAGITTARIA SUBULATA along the back and middle, and maybe some vallisneria.

Tanks pretty cloudy, washed the sand as best as I could with a sore back. It's clearing up alright though.

Bump. Looking for ideas that create a natural environment, with plenty of hiding spaces :)

Just remember that if you are using slate, you can't use pieces with orange streaks in.

The tank looks much better already :good:

The tank is looking much better! What happened to your black background?

I never had a black background? :p

And yeah, redecorating is fun. Post some pictures when you get a chance ! :)

Water keeps clearing up, moved somethings around, took some out.. isn't crystal yet, but getting there! I have another question, I was informed to stay away from slate rock with orangish lines in it. I received the rocks on the far right from a friend, and after breaking them to build that cave, you can clearly see orange. Is it iron ore?

Sorry! Wrong post! But I just found that a black background is so sexy ...

It is, I want to get one but I can't be troubled removing it, putting it on, ETC. I'll just try and hide mine with plants
