Tiny Submersible Pump

Hi all,

I am looking for 6 x tiny subersibale pumps that will fit inside a 45 x 45 x 45mm round hole of which is the opening screw cap size of the top of the containers..I am after a submersible pump rather than an air pump as I wish to mix the contents of the containers remotely..you can get agitator motors etc that you stand the containers on but they are highly expensive.

Here is one I found earlier but its not small enough to hit inside the hole due to the hole being round..

Sorry, I'm not following what you are wanting the pump for.

Its to put inside a 10 litre container so it mixes the solution without having to physicaly shake it each time...sorry for asking on a tropical fish forum..I figured tropical fish hobbyists would know about small pumps etc

Woah boy, ask away but unless people understand the question then don't expect an answer. Try to re read your opening post without knowing the background and see if it makes any sense to you.

I was going to say the item you found has dimensions of 44 x 43 x 42 mm so will fit in a 45mm x 45mm x 45mm hole but realised you meant a 45mm diameter entrance which would not allow it to pass through. I found this from the US and the size would fit if you removed the bit to keep the sponge and only used the powerhead, maybe you could find something similar in the UK.

By the way, you still haven't said what you are looking for one for. Maybe if you do then somebody could give you a better answer or a better suggestion.

I think you would be better with the agitator or a magnetic stirrer as the pumps are only designed to work with plain water. What are you mixing? Can't you control 6x airpumps remotely?

Its for a hydroponic system thats controlled by mobile phone that ive been working on for the last 4 months..im at the final part now and realised id better put something on it that mixes the nutrients before the dosing pumps dose the different nutrients into the main reservoir. The nutrients are as thin as tap water and non corrosive. I think an agitator is the ultimate answer but they are highly expensive

Using a big air pump with 6 x splitters and the tubes going to the bottom of the containers would be a lot easier so technically the bubbles will displace the solution and mix then around...trouble is im not sure what effect that will have in real terms in relation to physically shaking the containers

indeed it occurs to me, you could use any rotating object, of any size (within reason) to scale this up.
ok so the motor needs enough torque to turn the magnets, for bigger projects. but its viable .
real problem is safe mixing bars. as high grade SS is, virtually, none magnetic. (too much nickel). cheap options are few.
even so, you could make one, at little cost.
