I came home today to see little tiny bubbles all around the edge of the top of my tank, and a bunch circling in the middle. The filter seems to be shooting these bubbles out (its rather soothing to watch :) ) and I'm wondering what they could be coming from. I'm doing a fishless cycling, using pure ammonia, and this is the first time these bubbles have shown up. Are they just airbubbles, and should I just turn down the flow a little? Or is the "pure" ammonia not as pure as it claims?

my tank always has them they are just air bubbles it wont affect your fish, they are actually good because it means you have good airation

Check your water level. I'm guessing a little of the water has evaporated from the tank and the outflow from the filter is falling just a little further into the water, creating the bubbles. As bluefire says, aeration is good.

I got that in my tank too. as modernhamlet recommends, add water and they will go away. Though you need oxygen in your water so don't overdo it!

K, thanks everyone, I just wanted to make sure.

Yeah, the water level has probably dropped, its really dry in my house so water evaporates pretty fast. I usually have to add a cup or so of water to my 2.5gal every few days in between water changes...
