please help me,
my friend had 4 tinfoil barbs in his 29 gallon tank and they grew to be around 7in or 13cm. he gave them to me cuz i got a 55 gallon, which still might be a little small. one day i saw that the bottom of one of the tinfoil barbs was scraped very badly and later died. then when my friend and i were doing a water change 2 of them jumped out onto the floor and the 2 of em seemed to be rotting alive in the tank. i have good water, 7.0 when it comes out of the fossite. im not sure about the hardness tho. maybe they are sensitive to hardness. the tinfoil have lived in my tank a couple months before all this happened. on the tinfoil barbs, all their fins were rotting away and their eyes rotted out of their head. the other one just had some scales missing on the front of him. later those 2 died and the other lived on for a couple weeks until today. i did a fish transfer from one of my tanks and put 3 pretty big jackdempseys in the tank and moved some of the other fish out. the jack dempseys were in a 30 gallon tall so i had to move them. after they had been in there a while the tinfoil barb was missing scales on its side and started to do that rotting thing like the others. now i have killed all of my friends tinfoil barbs and i feel bad. i had tried to cure them with medaflex, which is supposed to rapidly repair wounds and fungus and stuff but it didnt work quick enough. please help me find out how they died incase my other fish will die from what they had.
