Tina's Mega Bommies

Thats an understatement.

Nope fish are great & really nice of you.

Can't wait for the deivery (Thursday), will post photos.

Seffie jumping up and down, excellent, going to get a hairy mushroom from Tina :good:

It is such good news about your mum and I really agree about the fish tank being relaxing when you are not feeling so great :good:

Will she be having radio after the chemo has stopped? I had radio everyday for a month, but it was a doddle after the chemo.

Garry, how is your mum at the moment, is she ok with the radiotherapy?

:fish:

moms cancer pathology is not conducive to radio, there are lots of tiny tumours rather than 1 clump. they may try a different chemo after, they may think they have done enough for the time being.

Mushrooms doing great guns, starting to come off rock now so time will be right soon.

carry on jumping.

Mum is finding radio worse than chemo. I think a abit more to do with her having it on the head. With lung cancer they have said that most of the time it will go to the brain & that why she is strugling. To be honest mum has between 6 month to 5 year left (told that in jan) & she is only going through Chemo & radio because it will not hurt as much at the end.

BUT she only has two week left of radio The its family time. :drinks:

There is one thing I will be doing there is a website to do with commentments & cancer. Basically you commit yourself to do something & poeple talk about it/ said they nhave read it. They are hoping millins of poeple sign up for it & make govt gte more involved in the black death of the 21st centuary. If I am allowed I will post the website & poeple can do what they wish. I mself give money/ raise money for make a wish foundation & that is for terminally il kids. Hopefully I will be doing the london marathon next year for them & the Micmillan cancer trust (THESE PEOPE ARE A+++++)

On a brighter note the wife said today if I wanted a bigger fish tank I can but I have to save. So a numer of things have to happen first. dad job need more hours & mum can relax with more govt money, then I have spare cash & I can then do a nice BIG tank :hyper:

So soon a big journal will be opening.

OMG Tina, this is fantastic, you must be so excited

Glad to hear your op went well, hope you're feeling a bit better now :flowers:

I found chemo awful and radio a breeze - but then i didn't have it on my head - i do hope it helps her

Thanks folks, getting this huge dressing reduced later. Made it difficult for clothes at the grandfather in-laws funeral yesterday. 92 yrs old, he had an amazing life.

Gary, my mum has the only lung cancer that does not spread outside the lung. its true Bronchio alveolar carcinoma (BAC).

Andrew had radiotherapy on his head a few yrs back for a pituitary tumour (growth hormone related), he had a hard time with that.

Trod I am really excited. Andrew keeps saying "are there any tanks about" which is a sure sign he is as excited as I am. We went to Hollybush Aquatics in Midlands whilst down there for funeral and he got really excited when I kept saying he could have fih instead of could'nt for a change.

I think I have read this wrong, Im abit confused.
Are you keeping seahorses and fish?
Or...

Display, Seahorse Refugium tank and 2 sump tanks actually.

Yes I know, I must be mad.

Will be awsome once completed though.

Picking up last set of lights tonight.

Been reading about different equipment etc for different tasks in my new book, am a little baffled as to the routes to go down ATM though.

Will be back with lots of questions once I have finished reading. Have done 329 pages in 1 day, lots of science there aswell.

Well, the first hurdle to this project was my 55g South American freshwater tank. With that in place the decorating could not begin, also that is where the 6ft tank is going.

The first hurdle is now out of the way as the tank was moved to my mums house this afternoon.

Before (Quite a while ago now, aquascape different)

The room is a difficult room to decorate as the ceiling is vaulted to a height of approx 16ft. This means at a size of 24ft x 13ft, we need scaffolding in here in order to paint.

The joists need to be rechecked before the floor can go down.

Step 1 complete.

Step 2 will be to decorate and Lay the floor, just where the tank is going initially. The ceiling will be painted too. Once done the stand will be built and bolted into the wall. Once tank in and new rock cycled, will swap the stuff out of my old tank into it. Once the old tank is out of the way, the other side of the room will be painted and then the end walls papered. Andrew will then finsh laying the floor. The he is sorting me some new storage out so that I can have a much less cluttered living room. The storage will cater for what actually needs to be stored, such as buckets, drip lines, siphons, etc etc.

Need to find the glass tank though, 6x2x2 or 6x1.5x2 (LxHxD).

It will not take long to build the unit as Andrew will have access to the machines at work, he works with kitchen unit MFC anyway, he will just do it after work and weekends. Should take no longer than a week once he starts it.

Mom is going to take a piccie of the tank at her house once the water has cleared. Will let you see that too.

See I got that whip cracking and finally got him to do something :good:

Did you see the spare 20g tank in the after ish pic. See what I mean about the living room looking like an LFS. 1 down, 3 to sort out and 1 yet to buy. This is just so blooming addictive.

Just a dead quickie to keep you all in the picture.

I have a 6x2x2 tank that I picked up off ebay for £51, yes you read reet, £51. :p

I have 2/3 sump tanks, the sea horse tank will be connected at a later date. I have a return pump and lots more powerheads that I got free from Matt at Fishworld who was having a clear out of some old equipment in storage, I also now have about 6 heaters of various wattages.

My sump tanks and the water to fill is kind of an exchange with a local reefer friend as Andrew is building him a new cabinet for his tank aswell.

I have acrylic rod for the aquascaping I also got this free from one of the advertisers on the marine forum I am moderating on.

Have I actually bought anything, well a little bit of my plumbing. The rest will be collected by Ste from Fishworld for me and delivered here to the house when he comes to drill the tanks, will be in the next week or so.

Week beginning Saturday 14th November, the in laws are coming to decorate. The room will be prepared, ceiling painted and then the wall painted that the tank is going against. Andrew will then that week (he has a week off) build my stand. Scott (local reefer friend) and his brother in law will then be coming round to lift the tank into position, we will sort the plumbing and get the tank filled.

Then once salt dissolved and water up to temp, the swap will begin.

I will have the tank running and swapped by the 21st November.

Will only be briefly popping in here and there, as I still have 2 tonne of articles and half an Information and care database to write along with moderating 2 other sections. I am being kept very busy at the moment.

I do however thank Tolak very much for sorting me the old dark blue skin out in order for me to actually see the site without getting a pounding headache.

Next week, Scott is lending me a little orca, this is because there is a NWMC day out on the 7th November and my tank is a full, if I see a fish, I will also be able to get that. Scott and I are going halves on a huge bag of sand as he needs some extra too. Cannot think of owt else atm, but things are progressing very nicely now. Scott is also letting me have some of his excess live rock, blooming fantastic.

Thats all for now folks, more when get more than a minute to myself. Average of 25 pm's a day atm along with answering a million and one threads.

Hope you are all ok if you are not on the other place.
