Haven't kept a Merodontotus tigrinus myself but we have had them in at work and i have read somewhat about them. I suspect CFC is probably one of the most knowledgable people on this forum about shovelnose catfish so if you have something very specific to ask he may well know.
What are you wanting to know about them? Most of the "general" info you should need is here:

What size tank is yours in and how big is it?

the tig i have now is 15-16inch
Bit longer to go yet then, 20" should be expected. What size tank is he in? Any other nice big cats? My biggest are my 2 lima shovelnose although i have some other fairly big pims.

I am hoping to pick up a tigrinus later on this year, ive been looking at them longingly for years but didnt want to have to risk moving a large delicate fish when we moved out of this rented flat.
How long has your taken to reach 15" and how did you lose your previous 2 tigs? Forwarned is forarmed so any tips from your experince would be appreciated.
Shotgate used to keep a tig and they said that it was really succeptible to any detriment in the water conditions. They had it a couple of times looing like it was going to keel over for no reason. They had far more trouble with that than the rays and they were all on the same centralised system.
