Not much of an emergency since nothings in any immediate danger but, from time to time i wake up and see my tiger plec with what look to be torn fins, it doesnt look like bite marks but rather torn down vertically. As if you took paper and cut a triangle shape out of it down vertically.

In about 1 or 2 days its completely healed.

Any idea whats going on? Usually happens at night since i dont see any problems during the day.
My tank is stocked as follows.

55 Gallon
2 Snails
7 (look like tiger barbs)
3 Bala Sharks
2 Mollies
7 Ghost Shrimp
4 Guppies
6 Cory
1 Tiger Plec
1 Rubbernose Plec
1 Yellow Tetra
4 Clams

Water Temp kept at 77-80 ferenheit. Water readings all normal. The extra snail is in my tank to grow up so my brothers oscars dont get him, mollies are being relocated however its been hard to find them a home, and ghost shrimp had babies, originally had 3.

What size is your tank?

I'd say it's likely the barbs, most barbs (with the exception of a few) are nippy buggers. Then again, plecs are well known for being awkward swimmers (due to their "armour" plating), so tend to tear themselves up a bit if they get stuck somewhere. Is the tank fairly cramped decor wise?

I had a read spot that got tourn up by a large male BN, in 3 days 100% perfect.

Yes i would say my tank has alot of decor, but the plec usually hides, goes out to eat once in awhile, but he hids in the cocanuts. Thing is i dont see anywhere where he could get a tear, who knows, it doesnt look like nipping though, its a clean cut.

On the upside, fastest healing fish ive seen to date.
