I am thinking about 8 or so. Would this do? I have good bio-wheel filtration.

Thanks!

what is the lenght of the tank?
what other fish are in there, if any?

It is a 20gallon tall tank. I am not sure of the exact length..roughly 2 feet I guess (I am not at home and can't measure).

I don't have any other fish in right now.

will they be the only thins ion the tank??tiger barbs are fin nippers!

Yes. I am planning on the tank being only tiger barbs.

not necessarily true... especially in as large a group as he's talking about

So..anyone have an opinion? 8 enough? Too many? Could I fit more?

:D

Be prepared for them to grow, and to grow fast. I am not able to recomend you with a good number, 8 seems good to me, maybe even 10. Just remember, they can get up to 3 inches, my two oldest ones are not even 1.5 years yet and they are nearly 3 inches, well just over 2.5.

Thanks so much for your reply!

What types of food do you feed yours?

I feed them a bit of everything, they are not picky eaters and will eat whatever is given to them.

I feed them a lot of frozen brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, spinage, cuccumber, peas, lettuce, live food whenever I can get it, algae wafers, they will even eat very small pellets. Like I said, I feed them almost anythign and everything :) If they even think it might be food they will try and eat it.
