i'm interested in tigers. most sites i've been to say they can be fin nippers (so no angels or other fancy finned fish), and somewhat aggreessive, though in schools thats decreased. whats a good number for a school? also, would they be compatible with cherry barbs and harlequin rasboras, and smaller loaches?
thanks all! :D

As long as they are in a group of 6 or more they will be fine. The larger the group of TB's the better behaved they are. If you get the 6 (or more) they should play nicely with the other fish you have mentioned as long as they are not long fined. Tigers have a motto....If it's prettier than me it gets mangled or dies .

I completely agree with Rose. I have 6 TBs in my 170lt with 4 cherry barbs,4 danios, 2 platies, 2 gouramis, 2 corys, 3 bristlenoses and one silver shark. They all live happily together.

yes 6 TB's is really the minimum number. Also aquamanis I would reccomend maybe getting a couple more danio's becasue they also like to be in a shoal of around 6 ;)

I have no problems with my TB's, GTB's or Rubys with the clownies i have. In fact the Barbs follows the clown loaches around, looking to steal food.

i only have 5 tiger barbs, and they keep to playing with each other. they stay out of trouble. but maybe i'm just lucky. :)

Thats great news aquamanis hope you pick the best and most wonderful two or even spoil yourself and get 4 :D

I had 6 tiger barbs in a 20G, they nipped at everything. I finally brought them back to LFS when they took a chunk out of a tiny cory cat. No more tiger barbs for me. I now have ruby barbs and love them.
