tiger barbs & convicts

will tiger barbs and convicts get along together in a 55gal tank wit plenty of hiding spaces for them to hide and establish territory

Yes they can be kept together...but...i'd only get one convict...i wouldn't recommend getting a breeding pair unless your ready to dedicate that tank to them. I had a small 1' female con in my tank and she terrorized a 3" red tail shark to the point that i had to remove her into her own tank. Why not go with a smaller dwarf cichlid like rams or keyholes.

i have three in there now along wit the fish in my sig... how do i sex convicts?

females will get a pink belly when they are spawning...it'll actually be real easy to tell once they get to 1.5-2" ... Your going to run into problems when a pair match up and decide to have babies....they will take 50% or more of the tank and terrorize/kill anything that gets near there babies...especially the other con...Honestly from experience...once they start protecting fry...your other fish are not going to enjoy it...
