Could a shoal of 10-15 tiger barbs work with convict cichlids and other cichlids, plecos, bichirs?

I'm not sure if your current stocking would work but in a tank with just the two species i believe it will work.

agree with micko... tiggies are too boisterous to be picked on (easily at least)

oh, the convicts are breeding aren't they? in that case i don't know as anything breeding and guarding eggs will be quite aggressive especially convicts.
best wait for soeone who knows more than me.

One of my tiger barbs was eaten whole overnight by a 2.5" JD. Tiger barbs do sleep and they are not safe with any medium to large cichlids in my opinion.

i've kept tiger barbs with breeding convicts before and didn't have any problems other than the odd chase.
