Can anyone tell me the life expectancy of a tiger barb??? Mine is a beauty and has to be at least 8 years old (it's difficult to be exact as he had 2 previous owners).

Also, my friend says he is a "rhombus" barb. I can't find any info on this so can anyone tell me what he's talking about.
Thanks x

Wow around 8 is pretty darn good  . I've got 1 silvertip tetra that is 5 years old, all his other buddies have since died off, and I really didn't like the silvertip so I was just waiting for him to go, but he has been alone for 3 years  . The fish has a identity problem though, now he shoals with my red glass barbs  but at least he's happy.

lol, ok here's another, my first fish (a betta) lived 5 years.

Wow!!! Respect to my barb!!!! He has been a bully in the past but hey at his age........

wow 8 years old thats brilliant.......is he still really active & mischevious ...i have a vision of your elderly tiger parked in a corner of your tank ,a bit grey round the edges, smoking a pipe, reminiscing about when he was a boy........ :D :D :D
