Check out this weird little fella! Reminds me of the bettas with 4 ventrals I saw on Aquabid a while back... I really regret not having bought one of those now, I'm totally into oddities like that. Their ventrals were perfectly formed, with the second pair positioned directly behind the first.

Haha, yeah... just a weird random extra appendage

BTW, if any of you guys ever breed, you know... a betta with 2 heads or 3 tails or something, you let me know! :hey:

I guess I'm the stupid one and because I can't see anything different :dunno:

Yeah its definately weird! But i wouldn't suggest breeding it, it might be some kind of genetic problem or something and you wouldn't want loads of freaky looking frying

Eh, with the way that deformity is, I doubt it. That kind of thing (random extra appendages, especialy in odd numbers) is usually a developmental defect. However, in the ones I saw with 4 ventrals, it was definitely genetic as the same defect showed up in 2 fish from the same spawn! That's why I really regret not having bought one now, it would have been an interesting trait to breed for. It obviously wasn't causing the fish any problems whatsoever, so I don't think there'd be anything wrong with breeding for it

Wow Synirr! That is truely a great find. Seriously you (or someone on this forum) should buy that betta (maybe me :hey: ). Three ventrals? How cool is that, but yet remotely creepy at the same time. Either way, he's a nice betta that deserves a loving home. Then, that person should try to spawn him (maybe the babies would have more ventrals :hey: ). lol, jk!

Double tail betas had to start somewhere like this. So as long as it’s not hindering the fish, why the heck not. :)

Two heads would be scary though! I’ve seen snakes with two heads… and they are just well, scary. :p
