Three Spot Gourami

i have had my three spot gourami for some time now ( about 5 months) and when i bought it i noticed that part of its dorsal fin was missing... it is a curved shape and it is where the corner of the fin should be
,it dosnt appear to be growing back, any ideas why ?

Because she's a female.

Males have pointed dorsal and anal fins. Females' are rounded.
