I have a adult male 3 spot gourami, It seems to have developed a new swim where it only uses its pectoral fins and not using its dorsal fin. Also it constanly raises to the surface and has its head sticking out the water ( not the mouth, just the bump of his head)

Any suggestions, He seems ok and all water parametres fine.

Please reply.........

When you say he swims odd can you tell us in more detail.
Is he bloated.
Can he maintain his balance in the water.
He he rolling over.
Also is he laboured breathing.
Can you post your water stats please.

am - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 10
ph - 6.7

he seems to be very skinny although fish are fed regulary
he can maintain his balance although seems to float to the surface
he isnt rolling over
not rapid breathing, normal......

How often do you feed your fish.
Being really skinny can be old age, internal parasites sto fish tb.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.
Check his anus to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.

poo seems ok, normal, and anus is normal.

I know bits of this but its all strange to me

They can catch them off other fish in the tank, they only have to suck another fish poo up.
