Took a lot of time and effort, but I think I'm starting to understand the basics.

The orangey coloured stone stands out like a sore thumb to me.
I think some cryptocoryne wendtii brown would look good around the main scape. Some kind of carpeting plant would work well too, but need a bit more info on your tank first such as light, co2 and fert etc.
Certainly a good start mate, couple things I noticed, the left side needs to be a touch taller and denser, also the anubias on the far right i would move to the open part of the wood in the centre
Removed the orange rock, looks a lot better now...I knew there was something odd
Far right anubias moved to the left piece of wood. Seems more "triangly" now
