Thoughts on my pond

Thoughts on your pond, as requested: It's very small, as ponds go. Probably not going to be much good for boating or water skiing. Should be most excellent for raising guppies, however.

I do like the recommendation of surrounding it with some marginal or terrestrial plants. Your fish will probably appreciate the shade and security of some overhead cover, especially as you head into a Brisbane summer.
Yeah not the biggest pond but just for guppy’s and if I need I can set up a few tubs to put some babys in

Dumbo guppy’s are the coolest guppys once my tank is ich free and I get my other 10 gal tank imma start breeding them. Do you have pics of them?
oh yeah hers I'll get some pics of the pond with the males in it i dont have pictures now but theirs one of the males in the fish tank as my profile pic.

So here’s my pond I just set it up a couple of weeks and is ago here’s a photorite now I got two male dumbo but I have to order the females online.
A very nice pond.
One thing about the heater though, most (or all?) aquarium heaters are designed for indoor use only. You wouldn't want to use an extension cord outdoors either, at least not when it rains. Also, if the temp drops to 4C as you mentioned, it's not going to keep the water warm.

What's the bird situation there?

I don't expect dumbo guppies are going to be well camouflaged for any predators. My urban, six months of the year pond used to get visited on a regular basis, and even with lots of cover, and with naturally shaped fish, some fish got picked off. Some carefully chosen, broad leafed plants on the edge would help.
A winter that gets to 4c won't work for year round fancy guppies. Pond heaters are a whole different game from aquarium heaters, that will burn out at those temps. They will also be very expensive to run. I would see it as a summer project, with the fish coming in when it gets to 12 degrees at night. With a Spring, summer and early Fall of natural foods and indirect sunlight, the fish will have great colour when you bring them in.

Yea

I now I would use a heater but the cords not long enough do you now a heater I could use

Im trying to find a heater that can do well outdoors and has a longer cable I’m planting two big plants around the side and the back tommorow. I’ll get a heater by winter

Yea

I don't have a pond so I can't offer any help there. The thing with extension cord is the potential electric shock when it's wet.

Yeah I would use one but if it rains it will go into the crack and it won’t work

Cover it tho
Yes you can cover it.
Bear in mind though, these inexpensive household cords are designed for indoor use only, there should be a warning sticker attached to it “For Indoor Use Only”. That’s not to say that it can’t be taken and used outside, but it should not be left outside permanently or semi-permanent because the cable sheath is not UV resistant and will deteriorate very quickly under the Brisbane sun, so exercise caution. UV rated cords are available though, at a cost.
