would meeki and elliotti be workable in the same tank or are they too similar/likely to clash?

wouldn't like to say either way tbh,
If they were put together though you would have two risks, firstly of aggression and secondly of them hybridising

thought the possibility of inter-breeding could be an issue. im considering getting rid of 1/both of my firemouths anyway. 1 just hides in the top of a plant all the etime and never comes out . this is since a gill flaring confrontation with the other 1 . thinking of re-homing for its own sake. if i did should i re-home both or just the scared 1?

You could try keeping one of each but you may find that the same thing happens with the meeki being dominant over the elliotti,
two females may give you the best possible chance of success,

today i re-homed the meeki that was getting beat up and have decided not to risk ellioti as long as i still have a meeki. altho i may still re-home the existing meeki and get 2 ellioti

my brother has 2 meekis and 1 ellioti (was mine i foolishly gave it to him) in one of his tanks, he has no issues with them at all might help that they all grew up together from a small size.
