is this a Thorichthys Aureum?

I don't think its aureus or aureum to be honest, I believe they're usually darker. Looks a bit like an ellioti, but tbh there are that many close colour matches in this family that it would be hard to tell without better pictures.

Blimey, it's really hard... How long as it been in your tank? It looks a bit unsettled. It could be the mixteco gold, seems to be showing a slight yellow tint to its face/gills area. Have you any inclination?

i got it on Monday and no... it has a little red on it belly..

I would guess Ellioti as well. Where did you get it from?

I would be surprised if it was something like a Mixetco etc unless it was from a specific source and then they would know what it was sold as. I would def say Ellioti given the gill markings but could be Aureus/Aurem though but it does kind of depend on supplier.

Does look like a very unsettled Ellioti the more i look at it. The only thing that made me thing of the mixetco was the yellowish around the gills.

My avatar is my Ellioti that is very much settled in and owning the tank.
