Progressively more & more men are making use of cosmetic surgery (facelifts & Lipho), deying their hair and using make-up..... Is this hip.... or are you one of those traditional men who sets the limit at deoderants..... ??.... and what do the ladies feel about these guys who spend so much time and money on trying to look younger with skin care products and the likes?...

Naa, don't like it if they are prettier than me! Or if they take longer to get ready than me! :p

I'm not vain enough to even consider plastic surgery, sure I take care of my appearance with the usual hair gel and deodorant combination that is common amongst many men, maybe the odd bit of moisturiser every now and then, but that's as jazzy as it gets.

Idk I think it's a little weird that men want to get plastic surgery, I dont mind the hair gel and deodorant
And I think it's a little funny that I'm a women and I can ready faster than most men lol

I don't really agree with plastic surgery except in perhaps extreme cases. I think generally, if you're the type of person who feels they need to have bigger boobs/a smaller nose/a flatter tummy etc etc, then it's more of a self esteem issue than something being wrong with your body. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd imagine in many cases of people who have plastic surgery, both men and women, that they don't turn around after the surgery and feel completely at peace with their body. Nobody's body will ever be perfect so I think it's important to love your body the way it is. I would find it a turn off if I discovered a man (or indeed a woman) had had surgery done. Except in the most extreme cases, it just says to me that this person has confidence issues. Even if they feel confident after the surgery, it just suggests that they're easily knocked down by little things.

I think everyone should take pride in their appearance though, at a healthy level, and that includes men and women. I don't have a problem with women using moisturisers etc so I guess I don't have a problem with men doing it either. Personally, I wear makeup but not every day and I can happily go out without any. I don't have a problem with men who wear makeup, though my opinion on that is the same as for women - if you feel that you can't go out without it then you're taking it too far. I've never felt the need to use such products. I use moisturiser if I get a spell of particularly dry skin but it's not something I use every day.

To sum it up, I don't have a problem with men who use such products, but I wouldn't find it a turn on. I suspect it may be because I know two men who do these things - one of them is gay and the other we can't believe isn't gay, so maybe I'm just conditioned to think that now.

I'm more or less agreeing with Cezza in everything she said. I'd find it a bit wierd if I was with a guy who took longer to get ready to go out than I do.

I look for certain things in a man. Cleanliness, nice clean teeth (so many men these days with manky teeth...why? I don't get it!) and smelling nice too - no b/o please guys *barf*

And if they honestly think that their looks are more important to a woman than their personality they really are barking up the wrong tree

Plastic surgery is not something I would consider.

But I do appreciate that their are people (both men and women) who are not comfortable, for whatever reason, with their bodies. And they have plastic surgery to give themselves some self confidence. I don't have a problem with that.

The only bonus I can think of from having so many people in finanical country's deciding to modify their looks via plastic surgery is for all the accident/ birth defect people that have benefited from the surgens that had got skilled in the practice by "practicing" on the well off. It's like a vet I know who is more than willing to try a potentially difficult procedure on a common animal so he can master the skill in case a much rarer/ endangered animal should ever need the same treatment. I guess I am saying that basically thanks to the moneyed and vain in the community (with regards to their looks and appearance) the less fortunate members of society that may have suffered terrible disfigurement due to accident/ illness or birth now have many more skilled doctors in the art rejuvination that can help them.

All that being said I think the people that are addicted to surgery need serious physilogical help, like the woman who bascially had her face turned into a cats face and everyone knows how mutilated Micheal Jacksons face ended up from all of his visits under the knief.

Plastic surgery in all its forms does have a place and a use, but when the use of plastic surgery is wholey and soley used because it's there and a person has the money to afford an otherwise unnessary procedure than it is wrong.
