So, music should be a joyful noise, and then they say say its got a good beat and you can dance to it helps. So, whether you are a table tapper, a desk dancer or you go in full out shake your booty mode, this weekend is for you.

Play this in 1080p

This is from 1938. The concert was performed in Carnegie Hall. This is the music my parents and other's grandparents danced to in the 30s, 40s and beyond. In the opening scenes from the vid there is a curved building on the right side of Lower Broadway. I worked in that building for my first few years as a broker in the 1980s. The entrance is across the street from where the giant bull sculpture now stands.

Play it in 1440p

For a large woman Etta still moves, and it must be love...
Play it in 480p

And I know the music can make me move, and I know the music can make you guy move, and then there is this.
Back to 1440p

I too have pretty eclectic tastes. I missed most of the 60s but had plenty of older kids in the neighbourhood & family in the 70s so was fed a diet of metal, psychadelia and blues. I do have a passion for all things stringed. While searching for string quartets covering metal tracks I discovered these guys and its easy (and fun) to spend a couple of hours stalking them on Youtube

I was old for my age when I was young. My friends were often 3 to 5 years older than me -- They were Bobby Sox era, - but I did grow through the 60's into folk music, and blues influenced folk music. We were regulars at Cafe Lena in Saratoga Springs and still hold a "membership". Still go on occasion. Back in the 60's we got to see many future stars of the genre at Lena's.

My turning point -- Woodstock at all that entailed. Was there for the entire experience -- all of it --

I leaned the difference between recorded music on my stereo and the electricity of live music at that event. After that experience I became a regular at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Many of the artists I lay on the lawn at SPAC in the 60's and 70's are now reappearing at the venue and we go pretty regular for a trip into memories. Unfortunately, we do not dance with the enthusiasm of the past, or even bob and weave to the music. Today, I sometimes muff my ears because what was once OK nor overwhelms my ears.

Ha ha, last year I went to seen a Stones tribute band outdoors. Never seen so many zimmer frames parked next to a stage

I saw the Stones live in both 2005 and 2006. Jagger has so much energy on stage even now at 80.

Zimmer Frame! Had to look that one up.

Not using one of them yet. Still get by with a walking stick when necessary. Serves as a crowd dispersion tool when I want to approach the stage.

I missed woodstock. I was working in Manhattan as an assistant in a photo studio. I was planning to ride my mororcycle up there at the end of the workday but they closed down the roads and stopped letting folks ins in so I never event set out.

I split my wimte after graduating high school working and/ or in school from the Fall of 66 into the later part of the 1970s. I live in NYC, VA, DC, CT and finished with a 18 months in Saudi Arabia. In the from about 73 early 78 I was a partner in a sound compancy based in CT. I have been debating doing a few weekends featuring all the bands with whom we worked in those years.
Muddy waters
Doc & Merle Watson
Canned Heat
The Ohio Players
Climax Blues Band
Sha Na Na
NRBQ
The Rhinestones
Donald Byrd and the Blackbyrds
The Persuasions
Ryo Kawasaki
Taj Mahal
Jean-Luc Ponti

Just great music is all need to keep me happy. It doesn't get much better than this, imo.

Play them at 1080p or higher.

I bet some of you thought I might not post in the thread as the weekend is almost over, I was doing my taxes which have now been submitted.

When I was a young boy and cars had only AM radio which was pretty awful, my father, who had a decent singing voice, liked to sing when he drove. One of the songs he would sing was "Heart of my heart."

And this weekend's music is all about harmonies.

This weekend is another two-nighter. This band was short lived but the members were not so. They formed , broke up reformed and broke up a few times. Wiki has a good history of the for any who are interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_(band)

There are also one of my more favorite bands for the era and they stayed that way over the decades. So. let me introduce many of you to the first night of Traffic "an English rock band formed in Birmingham in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason." Over the years band members included:

OK - time for the second load. I guess yo might say I am a Traffic Cop
(These all should play in 720p or 1080p.)

Not all music needs lyrics

And to go out with a BANG, turn up the volume....

Oops, I meant to put this in the above post and instead put in "Glad." Time to fix that.

I love Traffic! But I'm going to wait to listen to all your choices, I'm too tired for singing dancing along today.

I’m taking a train to Manhattan on Saturday to experience the opera, The Marriage of Figaro, performed by the Metropolitan Opera company. It will be my first time at the Met. My kids bought me tickets for my birthday.

BTW I love Traffic too. Stevie Windwood is terrific.

Sometimes I get lucky on Youtube when looking for music. I will stumble onto a performance by several stars who normally do not play together. Often they are best known for different styles of music. This weekend I am offering such tunes.

Play in 720p

This one can be in 1020p

Sorry, the best I could find for this one is 480p

And now for something a bit different, 1020p
