This Was Creepy.

Nice tank. I don't really see what creeped you out. Was it the low water level?

Following the food?

My fish do that too :D

My betta is particularly clever. If I go up to the tank and he is right at the other end amongst the plants, he will come all the way out and swim up to where my face is near the glass and just hover there until I feed him.

Every fish in the tank stared at me with the food jar. it was quite creepy..and funny at the same tiem lol

Ohhhh my fish do that sometimes too.

lol, that's not creepy.. try that with peacock bass and silver arowana that start dancing and smacking their lips when you walk past the tank. now i'm gonna have to make a video and post it.. lol. they look like they would eat me if they could get past the glass.

Haha, yea my fish do that as well. Actually mine go a little psycho, lol.
My large platy smacks his lips against the tank and literally makes a kiss mark on the tank! It's hilarious.
A little overstocked appearance wise though. O__O
Darn those livebearers and their mating capabilities!

That tank is gorgeous, I've never been all too attracted to them, but yours are amazing, nothing like they are in the LFS  I'd love to do something similar with my little 20g hexagon, but yours is twice the size

Thank you for the kind comments about my tank. This was actually my very first larger tank. I am about to gut it soon. Replace the gravel with sand and go planted. I think that will really enhance the look.

Overstocked yes?
Not overstocked. I have a bunch of babies on their way out. There are generally only 5 platys, 1 swordtail, 5 harlequins, 4 cories, 1 female betta and a BN pleco. I have about 12-15 juvies that are moving out by the end of the month. its a 40g tank

The tank has double the neccessary filtration to handle my juveniles.

And because of breeding, I have no plans to add anymore adults. I like to keep plenty of room for my young when they are born. About once a month, I put an ad on craigslist for free fish, and people come pick babies right out of the tank lol. There are only 3 juvies that i am keeping and that is due to the awesome markings they have :)

Fair warning. This tank was a pain in the butt to scape lol. I got this tank before I knew that rectangular tanks are better and easier to scape. I think the worst part about it is trying to vaccuum the gravel. I seriously have to roll up my sleeves and even still i end up with water down my shirt!

Nice tank, my fish always do that following thing, well apart from my BN Plec who just waites for his wafer in his hidey hole then bashes all comers with his tail if they get too close.

As I said before, I really like that driftwood decoration. I still haven't gotten to petsmart to get one. That would look awesome with some live plants growing around and through it. Nothing wrong with the way it looks now, but there is always room for improvement. I think you will find the fish will like the sand better than gravel. That's been my experience anyway.
