I have to take two of our cats to the shelter. We took in a cat like two years ago and she had kittens, we never found a home for the one, we had two friends of my brother interested but their parents said no, one because they had two cats (and later I found out because he wasn't neutered) and the other wouldn't let him get a cat till after they were done renovating their house. Well, needless to say the first one ended up adopting a kitten from the shelter because his mom's friend works there and it was going to be put to sleep, and now the other kid who was interested just adopted a kitten from the shelter because ours is grown up now and his mom wanted a baby. Then just last week I posted both cats up for adoption on Petfinder, and had one taker for Python, well, after a week of talking, sent them pictures and everything, and then they can't get him because we live too far away (like two hours). Why the HELL didn't they ask about that first? And it's not like I didn't tell them where I was... So that's three failed tries to get him a home, and now him and the other on who doesn't like cats have to be taken to the shelter because we're moving and we can't have them with our other two cats.

This makes me feel awful, we trried to get them homes but now it doesn't matter. I just hope they don't get put to sleep...

That's too bad those people lived so far away. Maybe you could rent a car or something? How far are you from the Jersey state line?

I wish we could but even if we did I don't have my license yet, so my mom would have to drive, and we have to pretty much be out of our house today, which isn't going to be easy.

And it's probably about 4 hours or so to Jersey. Why?

Well, I'm going to south jersey to visit my mom in about a month or so and i know that she's not far from PA so i thought maybe i could pick you up and drive the kitties somewhere or something. I don't know. It's just terrible that they're gonna go to a shelter. I feel for you. What a tough situation.

Maybe could you find a no-kill shelter? I know they may end up not getting adopted and living the rest of their life out at the shelter, but atleast they will be loved and they will be alive. Just a thought.

Is there something like a Petsmart near? The one where I live works in conjunction with a local rescue agency and has their cats available for sale all the time. Maybe they could take them or refer you to a no-kill shelter as already mentioned. If that's not an option. search the local yellow pages online for animal rescue agencies in your area. They would maybe come and pick them up from you.

I am really sorry you have to go through this. I wish there was some way I could help. The only suggestion I have is to put an ad in the local paper. Some papers do free classifieds or run ads for very small fees. You could also try the buy/sell/swap section if you haven't already. My thoughts are with you and your kitties.
